On the meeting with the Ambassador of Poland to Belarus

On August 1, 2018 Vladimir Koltovich, the Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade of the Republic of Belarus, met with Artur Mikhalsky, the Ambassador of Poland to Belarus and discussed current issues of bilateral cooperation.

It is noted that there is a positive trend towards establishing regular contacts between the countries at all levels, which creates the basis for strengthening the long-term partnership. Serious efforts are made by the countries to further develop the regulatory and legal framework, which currently includes about 40 treaties and agreements. 11 documents are under negotiation today.

During the meeting, particular attention was paid to the availability of significant reserves in the field of trade and economic cooperation, despite a more than 20% increase in the trade turnover between the countries in 2017. In this regard, the need to make bilateral cooperation sustainable and consistent was emphasized.

The 5th Meeting of the Joint Belarusian-Polish Commission for Economic Cooperation co-chaired by Vladimir Koltovich, the Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade of the Republic of Belarus, is to be held in Warsaw this autumn. Belarus has proposed to consider the possibility of developing an action plan for the next two years on various areas of cooperation.
