On online meeting with the Minister of Trade and Industry of Egypt N. Gamea

11th June, Vladimir Koltovich, Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade of Belarus, and Dr. Nevin Gamea, Minister of Trade and Industry of Egypt, the co-chairs of the Belarusian – Egyptian joint trade Commission had a meeting via videoconference.

The parties exchanged their views on up-to-date socio-economic situation in both countries, as well as discussed the following bilateral cooperation issues:

1) participation of the Belarusian side in the process of modernization
of industrial enterprises in Egypt;

2) the possibility of registering JSC " BMZ " in Egypt as a supplier of rebar rolled products to the Egyptian market;

3) promotion of products of joint ventures located in Egypt to the markets of African countries.

In addition, Belarusian side stressed the importance of negotiation process on a free trade agreement between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the EAEU, of which Belarus is a member.

The results of the negotiations formed a sustainable mechanism of practical implementation of the issue of participation of the Belarusian side in the process
of industrial enterprises modernization. Both sides agreed on acceleration of MAZ assembly lines’ sertification process, as well as consideration of registration of OJSC "BMZ" in Egypt as a rebars supplier on the Egyptian market.
