Development of catering infrastructure in the Republic of Belarus as of July 1, 2018

According to the Trade Register as of July 1, 2018, public catering services in the Republic of Belarus are provided by 15317 public catering facilities (excluding summer (seasonal) cafes, procurement facilities (shops), stores (departments) of cooking) for 841.2 thousand seats.

Compared to the beginning of this year, in the first half of 2018, the number of public catering facilities increased by 4% (623 units), and the number of seats increased by 2% (16.4 thousand seats).

8939 entities are engaged in catering activities in the country, of which:

• 789 (8.8% of the total number of public catering entities) - self-employed entrepreneurs;
• 8150 (91.2% of the total number of public catering entities) - legal entities.
   

According to the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus as of January 1, 2018, the number of seats (per 1000 people) in public catering facilities amounted to 41.8 seats, including:  

• Brest Region - 38.3 seats;
• Vitebsk Region - 41.1 seats;
• Gomel Region - 38 seats;
• Grodno Region - 36.7 seats;
• Minsk - 52.4 seats;
• Minsk Region - 42.6 seats;
• Mogilev Region - 36.5 seats.
